The travel speed of these cars is 19 mph (with an additional 60-90 seconds for each station at which the cabin slows for passengers to get on and off). Riders could go from Ala Moana Center to the Waikiki station in just five minutes. Although these cars travel more slowly than rail, riders will make it up with reduced waiting time at the station - the average wait for a car to arrive will only be about 10 seconds.
