Transportation above the trees

The Concept

A grade-separated aerial lift using a stable three cable system called 3S can connect the rail terminus at Ala Moana with both UH Manoa and Waikiki.  Cars are able to make stops independently of one another (by letting go of the haul cable).   With each car carrying up to 35 passengers and cars spaced about 20 seconds apart, the system can transport 6,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
